Kent Tong is a recent graduate from Loyola University New Orleans, having majored in Visual Arts and minored in Film Studies. Born and raised in a little-known town called Destrehan, Louisiana just outside New Orleans, Kent was not really exposed to the Vietnamese community until college. Starting with his freshman year, he got involved in his school’s version of a VSA - The Loyola Asian Student Organization, also known as LASO. It was from his involvement with LASO that started his heavy involvement in the VSA community.
In the past, Kent has served on UNAVSA’s Council of Regional Representatives as a Co-CoRR for the region, alongside Thanh-Thanh Pham, President and Internal Vice President of LASO, as well as the Director of AASIA's Camp Delta 8. Kent’s hobbies include watching, critiquing, and reviewing movies and TV shows, and rating them a score out of 4 Kents.
Internal Vice President
Mitchell Nguyen wants to live in a world where his ever-present smile is the key to world peace. He was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in General Business.
A passionate leader in his community, he has held various positions in VSA, such as UNAVSA-13 Marketing Director, UNAVSA-12 Registration Committee, Camp Delta 9 Hospitality Director, Camp Delta 8 Marketing director, Camp Delta 2014 Counselor, AASIA Secretary, and Senior Advisor and Public Relations officer for VSA-LSU. When he isn't binge watching a show on Netflix, you can catch him chowing down on Popeyes or recording his life story for Snapchat.
External Vice President
Thanh-Thanh "TT" Pham is a Louisiana State University alumna with a bachelor of arts degree in mass communication and concentration in public relations. Born and raised in New Orleans, La., TT currently resides in the DMV area where she is working under the Legislative and Public Affairs Office as a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development. She currently serves on UNAVSA's Council of Regional Representatives alongside her position of UVSA Gulf Coast External Vice President.
In the past, TT has held multiple leadership positions for the Vietnamese Student Association at LSU, including Senior Adviser, President, External Vice President and Freshman Representative. Her involvement with UNAVSA began in 2013 when she was selected as one of the UNAVSA-10 Visionary Scholarship recipients. She also served on the UNAVSA-12 Marketing Committee and most recently, the UNAVSA-13 Entertainment Committee. TT's passions include singing, arts, leadership development and public service.
Lina Huynh is a current student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and minor in Dietetics. Lina has been a member of her university's VSA- Vietnamese Student Organization at UL, also known as VSOUL, since her freshman year and served as Internal Vice President and President during her junior year.
Dedicated to serving her community, she is a member of the St.Edmond's Youth Choir, a Youth Group Leader, Confirmation Team Member, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Miles Perret Cancer Services Volunteer, St. Joseph's Diner Volunteer. Aside from community service and VSA, Lina enjoys playing soccer, spending time with her family, and obsessing over otters.
