Collective Philanthropy Project

The Collective Philanthropy Project (CPP) is an annual fundraising event in which VSAs from all over North America fundraise during their respective school years for a specific non-profit organization. Every year at UNAVSA's leadership conference, a new CPP beneficiary is selected from a pool of three final candidates. The beneficiary selected at conference becomes the CPP campaign for the upcoming school year.

This year's charity is The Catalyst Foundation: Project Backpack. Their mission is to build communities to fight human trafficking. They firmly believe that the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty is to strategically empower whole communities by educating, providing training and employment, building safe dwellings, and empowering children to stand up with dignity.

Project Backpack is focused on providing full physical and mental health resources for students ages 5-18. It allows at-risk children, for the first time, to have a normal and healthy life. A life we take for granted, but to them is a luxury that includes the basic necessities of education, food, and safety.
