Please describe the purpose of this dance, including your intention, goals, and creative process.

Our group dance is based on the theme of magic, as our video game is Pixie Hollow. We incorporated a range of dance styles, including contemporary, jazz, dance pop, etc. All of our songs were loosely related to fairies, as they involved lyrics that alluded to flying, magic, glitter, etc. While Ari and Suki have different styles, they collaborated on the first dance, “Levitating,” to set the stage. Ari’s contemporary style is seen in the choreography of “Golden Hour,” which focuses on creating group visuals and a powerfully emotional atmosphere. Suki’s girls dance to “7 Rings” is full of sass and flair, and her choreography for “24k Magic,” while lighthearted, is full or directional changes and intricacies, and shows that TUVA is here to stay.
