APPLICATION RESPONSES

Why do you want to be on the Executive Board for UVSA Gulf Coast?

Being on XULAVA's executive board for two years, I felt as if my spark for VSA will still be strong if I apply to be on UVSA GC's board in the next upcoming two years. Though I haven't fully expanded my experiences with VSA completely, I believe that even though I wasn't able to attend certain regional events or retreats, I'm still the well- rounded person I believe I am. The amount of effort and joy that I put into my craft alongside with people with different views, shows that I can grow and adapt wherever I am, especially on UVSA GC's Executive Board.

What makes you a qualified candidate for this position?

I, personally, have been able to see first-hand what an IVP is capable of doing and should be doing by working along side with a great IVP during this 2019-2020 year as part of ICC. Keeping good notice of what should be done as well as creating the glue needed in between gaps for ICCs' in this region helped me form ideas that I have planned for this role. Being on this board will allow me to broaden not only my enjoyment in VSA, but will help others as well with the guidance of the whole board.

What is your vision for this position, as well as for UVSA Gulf Coast?

In my eyes, it seems that IVP is not just the train director for all of the schools in the region but better yet a great mentor and advisor for all schools around the region to rely on and receive the help they need for their club and their board. IVP's main objective if to build that strong bond amongst all schools so that we can all support each other in times that benefit not just the school but communities we reach out to as well. Especially with our CPP, I want schools to continue the trend of fundraising for a better future for those who are unable to obtain it. Our region is very strong and impactful, with just the right amount of support and care we have for each other's partnering schools, we can all thrive and continue our main purpose as a region that focuses on professionalism, philanthropy, and culture. We're such a strong region and I believe that we can continue to grow, seeing that we gained USA-VSA again after a couple of years shows that the interest in this organization will not dwindle but instead thrive as we continue it through other generations.
