Why do you want to be on the Executive Board for UVSA Gulf Coast?

I want to be on GC eboard because I've seen what the past two eboards have done not only for the regions, but even for individual people. They've made such an impact on countless people and they probably don't even realize. I want to continue what's been built the past few years, and keep GC growing and help it improve, whether it's making bigger events and programs or more effectively creating leaders. Also I want a special jacket.

What makes you a qualified candidate for this position? 

I'm qualified because eboards always need one person who's not Vietnamese. I am not Vietnamese.

But also because I am kinda old now I guess? I've seen things come and go and I think I have a good grasp and knowledge of VSA and stuff like that. I think I know how to effectively reach people and work with groups of people to help lead others. Also since I'll be done with school, I'll be able to dedicate more time to VSA and other extracurriculars.

What is your vision for this position, as well as for UVSA Gulf Coast?

My vision for EVP is firstly to better help people understand and be excited about UVSA-GC, other VSAs, and UNAVSA. I'd say like 90% of VSA members are only interested in the small scale of VSA, so they only care about the food and sports. I think it's mainly because they don't understand how big VSA is, and I want to help them realize that. Another vision is to help connect the VSAs in GC, which has already been happening the past couple of years and you love to see it. I'd like to maintain those connections where the 10 VSAs not only succeed as individual organizations, but as a cohesive unit too. Gulf Coast is definitely growing by the second, and I want to maintain that growth to sprout potential leaders, build a community, and raise lots of cash money.
