APPLICATION RESPONSES

Why do you want to be on the Executive Board for UVSA Gulf Coast?

After serving on my schools Executive Board from 2022-2024 and being active within UVSAGC, I learned that the community here is unlike anything I've ever been a part of. Being welcomed with open arms, I've learned so much from the people throughout the region, and I want to give the guidance and compassion I received back to the new generation coming into VSA and UVSAGC. While there are always things that can be done to improve, I have faith that as an Executive Board member, I could be part of something bigger and instill great leadership and guidance within our community.

What makes you a qualified candidate for this position?

I could give the same answers that many others will give, which would be their experience on their Executive Boards, staff positions on different programs such as Camp Delta or Summit, etc. But what makes me a qualified candidate for this position is my unwavering work ethic to make a positive change whenever I can ,and always learning from others whenever I can. This helps me become an even greater leader, inside or outside of the local community, UVSAGC community, and beyond.

What do you believe to be your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a leader? Please explain:

When it comes to strengths, I have an unwavering work ethic, the ability to take feedback and input constructively to improve, and the eagerness to lift up others working with me while bringing a positive attitude. As for weaknesses, I've had struggles keeping an even paced workload instead of overloading myself, and doing things myself if I feel things are taking to long when I should trust in the team around me.

What is your vision for this position, as well as for UVSA Gulf Coast?

My vision for the Treasurer position is to bring more profit into the region, but also give back more to the community we have as well. UVSAGC nor the VSA's within UVSAGC would be around if we didn't have support from those around us, and I think there are more things we can do to give back than the primary regional events we host. That could be through donations to institutions and programs or better utilization of those that support us, but I'm confident that new changes can be implemented. With the new changes happening around us, I think we can establish a solid financial bed for UVSAGC and continue to build upwards.
