On March 22, 2024, LASO hosted a boba jeopardy game. For our icebreaker, we had everyone line up according to their birthdays. Teams were divided into groups of 5 based on their birthday. This way we could avoid clickiness and allow members to work together. There were about 26 people who attended. For prizes there were 5 goodies bag (filled with guava candy, pocky, Buldaak, etc) and 5 suiqshmellows. 1st place winners got to choose their prize. There was free Jasmine tea with Lychee Jelly or Tapioca, fruit tray, guava candy, and Hi Chew for anyone who attended. One person from each team logged into to Buzzln.live. This was a virtual buzzer website that determined which group could answer the question first. The 5 categories were celebrities, Geography, Asian Food, Lunar New Year, and Eboard. Each category had an option of 100,200,300,400,500 point questions.
What inspired your organization to create this new event?
We played Jeopardy at LRX, but this was a less extreme version lol
What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?
Free boba and and prizes were incentives to encourage members to come.
Did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event? How?
The scores for 2 Teams were extremely close, so one player from each team opened Wordle unlimited and whoever guessed the word first won.
