On February 2nd, around 25 of our members gathered together to paint paper lanterns and watched the movie Raya the Last Dragon. We provided some of our own ramen in case our members forgot to bring their own as well as water boilers. For this event, we created an Instagram post and spread awareness about the event through email and via GroupMe.

What inspired your organization to create this new event?

In anticipation of the return of our Tet Festival in two weeks, we created this event to increase awareness of the upcoming event and allow our members to show off their signature ramen recipes and artistic skills.

What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?

In addition to the reasons stated above, we also announced that the painted lanterns will be showcased as part of our decorations for the festival. Plus, members would be able to eat ramen and enjoy watching a good movie.

Did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event? How?

This event was relatively simple to plan. The only challenges that arose was that we only had two boilers for people, which slowed food preparation. Therefore, we directed people to nearby microwaves.
