On April 23, USA VSA hosted a Beach Banquet for its members and their guests to celebrate the end of a successful school year. With the option to carpool with E-board members, 30 people attended. For this event, we prioritized relaxation and fellowship with a picnic-style banquet. Since the venue was a public beach, we avoided the hassle of having to make reservations, pay for catering, and prepare decorations.
What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?
Having the event at an offsite and multipurpose location was a great factor in deciding to host the Beach Banquet.
Did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event? How?
We implemented a carpooling sign up sheet and capitalized on the fact that we are so close to the beach. With an event of this caliber being so close to finals, we knew that an influential factor would be to market the event as a break from studying. A beach getaway can be very healing!
