On October 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., VSA-LSU hosted DARE Live, a virtual fundraising event on Instagram Live. The concept encouraged viewers to donate via Venmo to Kellie Dinh, with proceeds going to the United Vietnamese Student Associations of Gulf Coast (UVSAGC). In return for their donations, contributors could select a dare for the executive board to perform. The dares ranged from smashing whipped cream on executive members and auctionees' faces to eating spicy ramen, adding an element of fun and surprise to the event. Approximately 15 people participated in the live event (executive board and auctionees), with around 100 people viewing the recording afterward. This interactive format allowed a wide range of viewers, including current students, alumni, and friends of VSA-LSU. The event aimed to raise funds for UVSAGC while promoting a sense of community and encouraging charitable contributions. The casual and entertaining nature of the dares made it a compelling experience for the audience. Resources used for the event were minimal, as it was hosted virtually. The primary costs involved obtaining materials for the dares, including eggs, ramen, whipped cream, and wax. Instagram was the main platform for marketing, with posts, stories, and teasers designed to generate interest. Word-of-mouth advertising and email campaigns further amplified the reach of the event. The fundraising results were successful, with a total of $637 raised through Venmo donations. This amount was subsequently donated to UVSAGC to support their mission and initiatives.

What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?

Because many of our general members and viewers watching had personal relations and connections with the E-Board members, auctionees, or UVSAGC, many people were inclined to watch us participate in the dares. For example, many people knew about Andrew's strong distaste for sauces, so he received multiple dares to do fish sauce or soy sauce shots.

How did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event?

The biggest challenge was finding a time and place that all of us could agree on during the semester. Thankfully, Trish offered her house to host the DARE Live, and we substituted our biweekly E-Board meeting for the DARE Live.
