boba bingo
Provide a detailed description of the event and the population it served. Details MUST include: date of event, number of participants, program purpose (goals, objectives, etc.), use of resources (finances, community support, etc.), and marketing techniques.
On September 8,2023, LASO's first event was Boba Bingo. There were 43 participants (majority Loyola students). Everyone was able to grab a free cup of jasmine tea and could either add tapioca or lychee jelly (which was donated). Each player was able to grab 2 bingo cards. There was a total of 13 games (10 regular ie. 5 in a row or 4 corners, and 3 blackout games). Eboard members rotated to be the caller. The purpose of this event was to reintroduce LASO to Loyola since it had been inactive for the past few years. We reached out to Student life and Ministry and they were able to print out fliers and hang them around campus for us. We also participated in a freshman recruitment tabling event, at which we also handed out the same fliers. Also other VSA's helped promote this event on their Instagram. Each round of Bingo could only have one winner. There was a total of 10 ShareTea large sized drinks and 3 Boba Squish Mellows. The winners got to choose which one they would like. While games were going on, Eboard walked around the room to make sure everyone had enough bingo chips and was having fun.
What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?
The prizes and free boba were heavily advertised to motivate members to come.
Did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event? How?
One challenge that arose was there were not enough bingo chips, so Eboard had to cut pieces of paper during the event for everyone to have enough. We were also short on time, so the last 2 rounds of Bingo ended up being sped up.
