Date of Event: April 13, 2024 6:30 PM. Number of Participants: 70 People. Program Purpose: To Promote Vietnamese Culture Through A Modern Casino Setting and Allow Members To Celebrate The Year In A Formal Setting. Use of Resources: VSOUL used its finances and current inventory to supply the event while hosting Golden Lotus at a new location. We were able to use resources from sponsors to help save costs on food and supplies to save financial costs. We also enlisted the help of members and voulenteer across the region to help host the event to the best of our ability. For marketing, we made multiple short skits and promotional graphics as well as paper fliers to help promote Golden Lotus to the VSA and non-VSA community.
What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?
We incentivized members to participate and join in the formal event through special deals as paid members as well as special gift bags for those who RSVP’d. We also offered free food, a photobooth, raffle prizes, and prizes for the events grand winners.
Did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event? How?
Yes, originally we planned on hosting the event on UL’s campus, however we decided to host to event off campus as we wanted to avoid conflicts with food and other services on campus to provide the best experience possible. Before the event, we also had issues with the wall and decorations not sticking with different adhesives, so we had to regroup and figure out a way to get the decorations to stick to the wall. We also dealt with issues of the space not being fully clean and having to partly clean the space before we could finish setting up.
