VSA-LSU hosts a Game Night each fall semester for general members to socialize and play games along with announcing the freshman representative. This year, a mini Smash tournament was featured in the event. The promotional artwork used for Game Night was inspired by the mobile video game “Neko Atsume”. For the event reminder we created a small video using two images and an audio file. The beginning of the video displays information of when and where the event will take place while the “Neko Atsume” theme song plays in the background. Since this was a reminder the word “tomorrow” is written in all red capital letters to create emphasis. About a third way into the video, the display is switched to an illustration of a classroom setting full of cats playing games. The setting was drawn to resemble the actual classroom in which we host Game Night. Since LSU’s mascot is a tiger, the cats are decorated with stripes. Similar to the app, the cats are gathered to play. Rather than playing with toys, they play games together such as Smash, Twister, UNO, and Monopoly. The Smash Bros. logo is very large to highlight the event’s features. The chalkboard in the background has a drawing of a crescent moon and sparkly stars to indicate the time of day in which the event would occur.
