Tet Fair

Tet Fair was hosted at MSU Bull Barn on February 12, 2022. We had approximately 75 people attending this event. The purpose of this event is to celebrate Lunars New Year with everyone. We had Lotto, Tien Len, Bau Cua Ca Cop, and lantern making. We also had lots of food like fried rice, shrimp chips, Che, and eggrolls. Our lovely fan dancers also practiced hard to provide a show for the people that came to the event! We wanted to provide a safe space for the Vietnamese community to celebrate the holiday and also show those who do not celebrate Lunars New Year! We used our finances to buy supplies for pie an eboard, decoration, ingredients for food, and raffle gifts.
What efforts were used to motivate and involve the organization's members?
We told the members about it in advance during our meetings, groupme, and emails. We also hung flyers to advertise the event.
How did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the event?
We tried our best to plan out everything prior to the event. There were a lot of problems when it came the day of we had to incorporate a lot of communication using slack, groupme, and our personal messages. There was a lot of things missing when it came to decorating so we asked our general members to help us.
